Sandra Antongiorgi is a rising Chicago artist known for her thought-provoking visual art and World, Latin and Neo-Soul music. Singing and playing guitar from the early age of 5, her artistry transcends genre. Antongiorgi has been featured as an opening act for Wynonna Judd at the House of Blues in Chicago, Alfonso Ponticelli at Chicago’s Mayne Stage and Ryley Walker at Thalia Hall. In 2016, she was selected as Music Artist-in-Residence at MACLA (Movimiento De Arte y Cultura Latino Americana) in San Jose, California, headlining three consecutive concerts. In 2017, as part of the Truth and Racial Healing Concert Tour in Chicago, Antongiorgi opened for and sang alongside the gifted and accomplished Jazz/Blues/Soul/Gospel singer, Lizz Wright. In 2018, she headlined City Winery Chicago's first ever female-fronted Latin music concert and also released hard copies of her self-titled Spanish EP. Antongiorgi's recent collaboration with One City Films and NoiseFloor resulted in the creation of a Spanish rock version of “America the Beautiful”, a song now featured in their protest documentary, "F*** Your Hair". As a songwriter, vocalist, producer and musician, she creatively bridges the gap between the nostalgia of the past and the ingenuity of the present, drawing the listener in with her soulful compositions.
“There are no words that can describe the natural talent that Sandra Antongiorgi possesses. She is a humanitarian, a visionary, a trendsetter and an all-around amazing human being. Her art and music portray only a glimpse of her genius.”
“Sandra Antongiorgi is as captivating as artists come. Her soulful voice blends jazz, soul and world music that draws in an audience to dance and feel. Sandra and her crew were a pleasure to work with and can really put on a show.”
“Having Sandra Antongiorgi in residence for 1 week as part Sandra Antongiorgi in Concert at MACLA through the NPN Performance Residency has greatly impacted us and the communities we serve. Our community was excited for the planned outreach activities and thrilled to celebrate the contemporary Puerto Rican-Chicagoan culture that Antongiorgi brought. Sandra Antongiorgi in Concert was a remarkable success and would not have been possible without Antongiorgi’s ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds. Antongiorgi was humble and thoughtful of the difficult dialogues surrounding the Chicano/ Latino communities. This was made evident through the various school outreach activities for the over 600 middle school, high school and university students, and a Q&A session with her bandmates and opening local artist María José Montijo after a performance. ”
